We teach. We treat. We care.

We are here to help you thrive.

Today’s world of less personal medical care has made doctors into rushed typists and patients into unhappy consumers. They may feel ignored and remain unclear about their conditions. Their deeper fears may not be addressed during a busy office visit. Especially at this time in the history of medicine, never has our longstanding motto been more appropriate than it is now:

We take the time to teach by various methods so that the patient understands the basics of their condition and thus will be more likely to achieve an acceptable result. We try to understand what it is that motivates that patient to put their faith in us by seeking out our services.

Our Services

Skin Cancer and MOHS

Today’s world of less personal medical care has made doctors into rushed typists and patients into unhappy consumers. They may feel ignored and remain unclear about their conditions.

Hand, Wrist and Arm Conditions

The upper extremity is a well-integrated organ with a large number of different organ systems within one unit.

Skin Spots and Sun Damage

Come in for a Look at the Largest Organ of the Body — the Skin. For the 20% of all Americans who develop skin cancer, 98% will survive, as long as it is dealt with early in the course of its growth.

Birth Defects

The way to care for humanity means jumping in with both feet and doing whatever needs to be done to achieve a result. Dr. Kivett’s whole reason to go and get eight additional years of training was so he could treat impoverished children overseas with birth defects on a charity basis.

Wounds

We treat wounds of most types, of sudden onset (acute) or of long history (chronic), on any body site and at any depth down to the point of entering a body cavity or other specialized site.

Surgical Repairs (Reconstruction)

Repair (reconstruction) is needed for various wounds, which can be of sudden onset (acute) after an accident or a cancer removal by a surgeon. Repair may also correct a longstanding (chronic) problem after old tissue breakdown, an infection or the appearance of a birth defect.

What People Are Saying

“Always a pleasure to see Dr. Kivett. He is outstanding at his dermatology professions and has a staff to match in the Pasadena office. I actually look forward to my annual checkups. I cannot say that about every medical appointment I have. Thank you, Dr. Kivett.”

“Very knowledgeable, terrific bedside manner.”

— Chester S.

“Dr. Kivett was nothing but nice and caring! You can tell he cares about his profession. After my first biopsy came out positive, he made sure I understood the different layers of the skin so I'd understand the process I'd have to face if the second biopsy came out positive as well.”

— Juli S.

“Dr. Kivett is incredibly caring and detailed with his work. He also speaks Spanish very well. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease.”

“Dr. Kivett has been incredibly patient, kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. He actually wrote the chapter in a plastic surgery textbook. He took his time to explain the science and medicine behind the skin condition for my relative and took great care in examining the patient and showing us what he discovered. He is just about the gentlest and kindest physician I have ever met.”

— Peter H.

“I see Dr. Kivett now has a practice in Santa Rosa. I would like to express my extreme pleasure and satisfaction for Dr. Kivett during my MOHS procedure. Dr. Kivett explained the entire process and answered all of my questions before, during, and after the procedure. He is the perfect doctor for those who may be apprehensive or unsure of any skin cancer surgery. I am very happy with the outcome and highly recommend him to anyone that may require a similar surgery. He is absolutely kind and personable.”
